Reverse Proxy Server is an important type of proxy server. This proxy server (reverse proxy server) is installed in a server network. With the help of reverse proxy server we can access any website indirectly. Reverse proxy server is mainly used to access internal websites by sending indirect request. Reverse proxies also protects from web-based attacks by using application firewall feature. In simple words we can say that reverse proxy is a gateway for web servers.
